Simple and Elegant

This vignette looks wonderful!  I think that frame was a Passionate Home find!  Just beautiful Janis!  Thanks for sharing your great ideas with us!

A Lovely Display

Looking at this display, would you guess that these shelves came from Ikea?  Again splashes of silver along with the white.

Sweet White Table

It truly is "all in the details"!  I love the handles on this little table in Janis's front room.

She has replaced the handles with simple strips of sheet torn & tied. Great idea!

White Front Room

Janis lives with three boys and a dog!  You would not think so by looking at her WHITE FRONT ROOM!

Look at how amazing that silver ice bucket looks filled with flowers!

Industrial Metal Stool

Here is a super creative idea from Frances.  She purchased the industrial metal stool, vintage suitcase and brackets from The Passionate Home.  The suitcase is a great place to store your pens and paper.  And yes, this is a rotary pay phone!!!  Thank you Frances!  I love this space!

Pale Green Dresser

This pale green dresser was another Passionate Home Creation and Susan has done a wonderful job dressing it with the tray, the milk glass vase, fleur de lis, shells and one of her daughters unique Vintage Creative Photo Collages.

Guest Room

Susan has created a lovely space for her guests!  In this room, The Passionate Home is where she found the pictures, the plate rack, one of the plates and the lamp base.  It looks so clean and fresh.

Vintage Luggage Rack

Here is a vintage luggage rack serving dual purpose.  Janet has changed up the original straps for some pretty vintage ribbon and added a piece of glass to make this great table.

Multi Purpose Scale

This repurposed grocery scale from England is shown here with a plant but when people come over Janet displays a collection of candles to add warmth to her living room.

Dressing Table Tray

Sitting by the kitchen sink we have an old dressing table tray keeping everything you need together and organized. The syrup dispenser is used for the dish soap and she also has a beautiful cut glass dish to hold her bar soap and nail brush. I think this display makes doing the dishes more fun!

Fun Placemats

Another fun collectable is pig shaped cutting boards shown here as a placemat.  Great on the patio!

Super Fan Stand

A child’s chair makes for a super fan stand in this guest bedroom.

Ribbet

Do you have a FROG in your bathroom?  Janet does, and she uses it for her make-up brushes!

Cloches

This silver tray is topped with a clear cloche and etched with the word "DREAM".  It looks like she has red holidays balls and snow for a lovely Christmas display.  You could also use this to display soaps or a small photo. The ideas are limitless!  Thanks Janis To see more of Janis's JUNK STYLE creations visit her BLOG at www.janisgurney.blogspot.com

Beautiful Bouquet

Is that a Christmas tree topper I see? The silver vase with crystals is another one of Janis's creations.

OOH LA LA

Look how beautiful this display is in Janis's home. Janis makes all sorts of amazing items out of recycled JUNK! Her JUNK STYLE creations include the wind chimes we carry with the silver sugar and cream dishes, crystals and cutlery! I believe the Shabby Frame in this photo was a FIND from The Passionate Home!

Antique Toys

This kitchen garden window was transformed over the holdiays to every childs and toy collectors dream! Thanks Liz for allowing us all to enjoy your showcase of antique toys!

Fun Red Cabinet

Welcome to Elinor's home! What an elegant country entrance. The red cabinet is a fun splash of colour and a great storage area! This display is pretty and functinal. Love the use of the old crock and the whimsy of the birds nests.

Miss Matched Plates

Look how pretty this collection of miss matched plates look! How fun to hunt for these treasures and create such a nice display!

Purposeful Centerpiece

Here is an example of repurposing! Not only does it keep the placemats at the table, it makes a lovely centerpeice!

BELIEVE!

Look how simple and simply beautiful this holiday mantel looks! The wood window looks right at home with the stone fireplace. The word BELIEVE is stenciled on a peice of old tin ceiling tile. The silver white wreath with the little birds is the perfect finishing touch!

Inspirations Wall Art

This is a picture that holds many special memories. Elinor chose to have a custom Inspirations Wall Art made to make the display even more special. The Passionate Home stocks Inspirations Wall Art and if you can not find a quote perfect for you, feel free to create your own message and we will have it made for you!

Picket Fence Headboard

It looks like Maizie has a great headboard made from a reclaimed and restyled picket fence.

Window Frame

Here an old wood window frame has been restyled into a one-of-a-kind picture frame. Instead of keeping the original paint, she has sanded this frame down and applied stain. A perfect frame for a perfectly beautiful child. Also note the old heat register cover and tools on display! Thanks so much for sharing!

Fireplace Surround

Here is a larger shot of Cinthia's space. It looks like she has made great use of this old fireplace surround. I have a feeling that that old box in the middle is filled with toys!

Fireplace Gate

Cinthia purchased this small cast iron gate to place infront of the fireplace to stop little fingers from exploring. Practical and pretty. I also love the old watering can. Old watering cans and metal buckets are great finds, even if they are in less than perfect condition. Just plant them up for your garden and enjoy!

Elegant Desk

Something about this photo that I just love.  I think it is the soft mix of colours;  the antique vanity in the cream and the soft yet rustic blue box, topped with that great green fan.  Simply, clean and elegant!

Kitchen Cabinet

I love this cabinet! Using reclaimed lumber, this cabinet was built to fit around this great old window! Cinthia really made it her own with a fresh coat of paint. It looks just wonderful in her space.

Wood Boxes

These old boxes were at one time used to store china plates. Boxes are so multipurpose. This is a great way to keep you front door organized!

Old Wood Windows

One of my favorite finds is Old Wood Windows. They come in so many shapes and sizes and they have so many uses. In this display the window is displayed with the original glass in place. It adds great height along with the antique fan and is that an old kettle she is using to hold her hydrangea? Also, notice the stained glass window hanging in the window in the background! Very nice!

Window Mirror

Another super idea for an old wood window.  Remove the glass and add a mirror.  A few hooks or old glass door knobs and you have the finishing peice for any entry.

Beautiful Metal Signs

Amy has done a beautiful job displaying these black and white metal signs from The Passionate Home.  Adding ribbon really makes a difference!  With that little table in hall, it is just the picture of organization!

Old Mason Jars

Old Mason jars are so useful. They make any display more interesting. Just look how easy and sweet this looks!

Birdcage

This was an old well loved “chippy” birdcage that I thoughts would end up in someone’s garden filled with flowers, but look what happened…Teresa restored this cage to create a new home for her birds and she has reported that they love it!
Vintage Stepback

This vintage red stepback was taken to its new home where the back was lined with this beautiful bird paper.  The patterned paper totally customizes this piece and makes it truly unique!

I love how she has lined the top shelf with glassware!

See…it’s not just in the magazines… you can do it too!

Beautiful Memo Board

Here Karen took this simple white picture frame and made it into a beautiful memo board and hung it by a coloured ribbon. Note, she is not just hanging it from a nail in the wall! Though the cork is showing in this photo, you could also cover it with fabric or patterned paper.  This project creates something both practical and pretty!

Antique Armoire

This lovely piece has a new home in a recently renovated bathroom.  We added shelves in this antique armoire so that it provides it’s new owner with organized storage for all of their linens and towels as well as baskets for personal items.  What a pleasure to put away the clean laundry!

Memory Board

It is hard to believe that this use to be a gold framed floral!  We spay painted the frame black and covered cork board with a textured neutral fabric.  Overlapping black ribbon and some vintage upholstery tacks and we have created a custom memory board for all to enjoy!  Here is a hint…look for frames with lots of detail, they look so great!

Paris Chic Clock

This was a Vilas Dining table found at the side of the road!  First, we cut down the legs to make it coffee table height.  Then we used all the left over paint from colours that were already used in the home to create an aged worn patina.  Number stencils and some free hand with black paint followed by a few coats of clear coat and just look at this restyled Paris Chic creation!  This would also look good hung on your wall!

Versatile Ladders

This old ladder was put to good use in Susan’s family room.  Ladders are so versatile in so many spaces.  Here, it is not only decorative with her outdoors theme but useful too!  Love the Moose!

Window Frame Mirror

Here we converted an old wood window frame into a mirror.  It fills in this large space above the fireplace and makes a perfect backdrop for Susan’s outdoors theme with her rocks and greenery.  Note the use of coffee beans in the hurricane candle!  Another creative idea!

Whistler Decor

No, this home is not in Whistler! But it looks like it could be…this display is in Susan’s living room. I love how she has continued her theme through out her home but not over doing it. These old wood skis look great beside her amazing rock fireplace and the perfect partner for the snow shoes that hang on the opposite side. I think that small black table in the photo is another Passionate Home treasure… thanks Susan!

Recycled Old Crate

Reclaim, Restyle, Redecorate… Look how beautiful this simple old wood box looks!! Old boxes are so multi purpose. They can help you stay organized, hold your summer flowers, keep TP handy in the Loo, the ideas are endless.

Tea Table

Well, this is where it all began for The Passionate Home!   This is my very first piece that I ever painted.  This tea table is what inspired me to paint just one more piece.  I am happy to say that I have painted quite a few pieces since then!  Katie loves to use this repurposed living room end table for tea parties and colouring.  Thanks Katie!
